Thursday Thoughts

Happy Thursday!

I'm back again with my second week of Thursday Thoughts! This week I wanted to first share some shoes that are currently on my Nordstrom wishlist! I think my favorite thing to purchase is shoes so I'm always on the hunt for cute new pairs. My favorite pair out of these four is definitely the Steve Madden wedges, I have a feeling they would go with so many outfits!

Things I did this week //

* The most exciting thing I did this week was going to a Sam Hunt concert and let me tell you, it was SO good! I love country concerts because the artists always put on such a great show and he did not disappoint. Maren Morris was one of the opening acts and OMG I'm obsessed with her voice, it was insane listening to her perform.

* I caught a disgusting cold, TMI? Well, I did and it sucked. I hate being sick and not being able to do anything! I'm on the mend now though!

* I cleaned out some of my shoes and clothes. I really have to force myself to go through my closet often or else I have an insane amount of things that I just don't wear.

Things I'm doing this weekend //

* Getting my bi-weekly mani. I go every 2 weeks to get a fresh gel mani. I love the way my nails look with the gel on and it has helped me to grow my nails really long! Did you know you can get the gel polish on your toes!? I did that for my vacation I took back in April and that stuff won't come off!

* Sunday is My Dad's Birthday so I will be celebrating that with him! I always find it so hard to pick out gifts for him because he literally has EVERYTHING. This year I'm making him a fun lottery ticket bouquet!

* The fourth of July is next Tuesday & I'm so excited! I'm mostly excited for the 3rd of July which is when Burlington does their fireworks show. Kyle & I usually grab an early dinner then walk down to the water to grab a seat for the show!

Do you have any fun plans for the holiday weekend!?

Niki

Summer Sweater

Okay, I know what you're probably thinking, why oh why would you need a sweater in the middle of summer, but trust me you do! How many times have you gone into a store or a restaurant in the middle of the summer and froze!? Exactly, you need a summer sweater. There is nothing I dislike more than being uncomfortably cold. This sweater is perfect because its lightweight and breezy so it won't look too bulky for summertime. I also love the stripes as it gives it a nautical look. You could pair this over a dress, or some cute denim cutoffs and a tank! I just paired it with jeans and a tank to run to the Farmers Market last weekend. Vermont has the BEST Farmers Markets! We got these bacon hotdogs which were soo good. I think I'm going to pickup this cardigan in the other color options because its currently 40% off so its less than $30! Such a good deal.

Hope you've enjoyed!

Thursday Thoughts

I shared this top on Insta, It's on sale for $26 and the perfect item to add to your summer wardrobe!
Happy Thursday Everyone!
I've decided to start a new series on my blog called "Thursday Thoughts"! In this series I will share what's been going on during my week, my weekend plans, and some other fun things! I wanted to have a way to share a little more personal & lifestyle things beyond my clothing posts.
Things I did this week:
* Tuesday was our official last day of school & I'm so excited for summer vaca! I will definitely miss all the students but I'm excited to sleep in a little and enjoy my mornings. During the school year I wake up at 6am everyday which is quite early!
* Also on Tuesday I got my hair done! I get my hair colored a few times a year by Savannah at Full Spectrum Salon. In the past year or so I've been getting balayage which is SO much better than highlights! The upkeep is minimal & it still looks good when it grows out! This time we went a little blonder with my hair for summer & I'm loving it!
* On Wednesday night Kyle & My Dad & I went to the season opener of the Lake Monsters at Centennial Field! I love baseball and have been going to this ballpark for as long as I can remember, when I was younger we had seasons tickets and would go to every game, so it was really fun to be able to go to a game last night! My favorite part was the ballpark nachos! Yum!
Things I'm doing this weekend:
* On Friday night Kyle & I are headed to the Bank of NH Pavilion to see Sam Hunt! We're super excited for a little getaway. Unfortunately it's supposed to storm during the show so lets hope the forecast changes! Not sure rain boots & a poncho are the cutest concert outfit.
* On Saturday before we head home we are going to stop at a few outlets & Target. Going to Target is such a treat for me since we don't have any in Vermont, it's one of my favorite stores!
What did you do this week? Any fun weekend plans? I'd love to hear!

Gingham Top

Gingham is a huge trend for this Summer & this top is perfect! It's super lightweight and breathable for a hot Summer day! This would be perfect for a date night or weekend outing. This weekend the weather is looking a little questionable unfortunately so I'm not too sure what we will be doing. Tonight though we are planning on going down to the Food Trucks at Arts Riot! Yum!! I'm hoping this one truck that has the best burgers is there! Are you guys doing anything fun this weekend!? The past few weeks have been a little crazy but the last day of school is next Tuesday! So excited for summer vacation!

Happy Friday!

Ruffled Hem Tee

Happy Monday! It's currently a hot 90 degrees in Vermont and I swear it feels like 130 degrees! But no complaining after the winter we had here! I ordered this tee a few months ago and when it came in I was shocked by the quality of it for the price being under $20! The ruffled hem is a nice crisp material while the t shirt part is thick and structured. This shirt also comes in a pretty baby pink color! I paired it with my favorite Joes Jeans and some wedges for an easy weekend look. I wore this last Sunday and got a ton of compliments on the top! This week is the last full week of school so things are a little crazy around here! I'm so excited for a few months off and sleeping in past 6am :) Next week I'll be getting my hair done & then Friday is the Sam Hunt concert so a pretty exciting few weeks if you ask me!

Hope you've enjoyed!

Off The Shoulder Top

Off The Shoulder Embroidery Top // Sam Edelman Sandals // White Denim // Black Ray Bans

I'm a little obsessed with this off the shoulder trend if you haven't noticed, I love how it makes an otherwise basic shirt look fun & dressy. I picked this one up because I loved the embroidery detail and thought it would pair perfectly with my new Sam Edelman sandals, it's like they were made to go together! I wore this outfit last weekend to run around a little and it was super comfy. I'm definitely getting to the age where I appreciate practical shoes a lot more, and lets be real 6 inch wedges aren't really the most practical. I think I will get a lot of wear out of these sandals this summer & they also come in a cute tan color! This weekend Kyle & I went to the movies with my friend Annaliese to see Baywatch and it was SO funny, it had a pretty detailed story line & was overall hilarious so I highly recommend seeing it! Are you doing anything fun this week!? Hopefully we get some sunshine here in Vermont, it's much needed!

Flare Denim

I've had this pair of jeans in my closet for a while and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to style them. They were too long to wear with any flats & looked ridiculous with a heel so I was stumped. I then decided I would try them with my favorite wedges & love the way they look. I think a flare style pant is so flattering on most body types, it makes your legs look 10 times longer & gives you some nice curves. If you're a little timid trying out this flare denim trend I would suggest starting with a small flare and not something too crazy. Now that I know how to style these jeans I want to order a few pairs that are a wider flare! Things I would watch out for when purchasing flare denim would be the fit near the knee, and the length. You don't want something that's loose in the knees because it will will make your thighs look much larger and you don't want too short of an inseam because that will make you look short and squat, not cute!

The best part about a pair of flare denim  // is you don't need to worry about what to pair them with in terms of tops. Since the denim is pretty dramatic it looks great paired with just a simple tee and some cute accessories. I'm going to link some great denim options at different price points, some are under $40!

Have a great week!
