Chenille Sweater

Happy Halloween!
Anyone else loving this yellow color right now!? I feel like it's the perfect fall color that still keeps things bright. This sweater is Chenille which is a huge trend right now- every store I went into this past weekend had Chenille in some form. I can understand why everyone is so obsessed as it's seriously so cozy & soft. I ended up purchasing this yellow sweater & another blush colored sweater which I'll share later on the blog. Since this trend is new for me I didn't want to splurge on a sweater in this material- this one ended up being under $30 which is such a great deal. I purchased it in an XS as I pictured myself wearing it with high waisted jeans so I didn't want it to be too baggy. I paired the sweater with these "mom jeans" that were under $50 and are now my new fave jeans! I did go up a size in these as I think this brand tends to run a little small. I love finding great staple pieces (like these jeans) at such a steal- you really don't need to spend $200 on denim to have them be great!

It's been so warm this fall in Vermont that I've been able to get away with just wearing a sweater & no heavy coat- I'm loving it! I purchased a few more cozy fall sweaters I can't wait to share with you all- most are under $50!

Hope you've enjoyed

-Spinach
-Red Onion (optional)
-1 lb Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
- Crumbled Feta
-Kalamata Olives
-Creamy Greek Dressing

Instructions //
- Dice chicken & cook over medium heat until fully cooked- I seasoned my chicken with a little salt & pepper
- Dice cucumber & tomato
- Cut open pita pocket & fill with a handful of spinach
- Add in the cucumber & tomato
- Add chicken into pita pocket

Thursday Thoughts & Cosmedix Review

Hi, All & Happy Almost Weekend!!

I wanted to start off today's post by doing a little review of a brand I've been trying out recently. A few months ago Cosmedix reached out and asked if I would be interested in trying out their Detox mask- I'm a sucker for face masks so of course, I said yes! This mask is a charcoal mask that you rub in for ten seconds before leaving to dry on your skin. I love this mask, it smells so good and really helps to clear up any trouble spots I get. Cosmedix is launching a new product which is their Humidify moisturizer which claims to provide deep moisture and firming hydration. I've been using this product for a few weeks now and I can tell you it 100% does both of these things! Living in Vermont the weather gets very cold and dry this time of year which leads to my skin looking dull and lifeless. After a few weeks of this moisturizer, I've noticed my skin feeling better and looking plumped up. I apply this moisturizer at night and in the morning before my makeup. I've noticed that my makeup has been applying smoothly & staying nice all day. If you head over to the Cosmedix website you can purchase some of the products online as well as find a local Med Spa that sells the line.

Things I did this week //

* Thought I got the worst cold ever but turns out I have really bad allergies? Who knew! Not me! Anyways- I felt like one of those memes about how we take breathing for granted until our nose is all stuffed up! I took allergy meds and have since recovered.

*Made the most delicious Greek Pita recipe which Kyle photographed so I will be sharing it on the blog next week! I've gotten a lot of requests for dinner recipes so I'm excited to share my first one! I never realized how much work it was to photograph a recipe!

*Got my hair done! Or should I say getting my hair done- I have an appointment for Thursday at 3:45! I've been getting balayage done for over a year now and I love how seamlessly my hair grows out- It makes the upkeep so easy!

Things I'm doing this weekend //

*Staying at my parent's house- They're headed to Maine for a beer & wine tasting so I'm "manning the fort". The benefit of this "fort" is that their fridge is always stocked, they have this cozy fireplace on the back deck & they have premium cable! Living the life!

*Baking some Halloween treats! I'm all about going "all out" for holidays so I need to make some monster treats!

What are your weekend plans!?

Must Have Loafers

*This post contains affiliate links. Thank your for supporting Nichollesophia

Has anyone else been obsessed with loafers lately!? They're so comfy & can make the most simple outfit look put together! Today I wanted to round up my favorite pairs of loafers all under $100 which is a great deal. I've been wearing loafers lately to work as they're flat so I can wear them the entire school day without being uncomfortable. I think loafers are also super cute on weekends paired with jeans and a tee- so versatile. If you're not really sure about the whole loafer trend I would suggest trying to pair them with some boyfriend jeans and a tee- it's a comfortable look that won't seem like you tried to hard- I would also suggest starting with a neutral pair like the black ones above! My favorites out of all of these are the leopard print pair- I tend to wear pretty plain clothing so I love adding fun accessories into my outfits!

How do you feel about this trend!?

Leopard Loafers (true to size)

Things I did this week //
* As some of you know I was accepted into rewardStyle this week, which as a Blogger is very exciting! I got a few messages asking what rewardStyle is so I thought I would quickly share. rewardStyle or LIKEtoKNOW.it as most people refer to it as is a platform for Influencers to use to monetize their content- it's very streamlined and provides influencers with so many helpful tools. The best part for me is that I am now able to easily link all of my products through Instagram as well as my blog- this will hopefully make it easier for my readers to shop my looks! If you download the LIKEtoKNOW.it app from the app store & follow me you will be able to instantly shop all of my looks right in your liketkit feed!

*My class went to an inflatable Planetarium which you're probably wondering "why are you telling us this??" Well, I'm telling you because it was traumatizing! I had to crawl into this large inflatable dome with 24 6-year-olds- no one was allowed to talk & it was pitch black and if the sides of the dome got bumped it would deflate on us. I was so paranoid that it would deflate and I would be trapped in there!! I'm way too claustrophobic to do anything like that again! On a better note, my students did get to see some constellations!

Things I'm doing this weekend //

* This week was a short week at school so we only had 3 student days & had Insevice Thursday & then Friday off, so I'm heading to New York on Friday to do some shopping & a little girls trip with my mom! I have quite a list going of things I want to pick up for the fall season so hopefully, I will snag some things!

*Finishing up a DIY Thanksgiving centerpiece. I just can't seem to stop doing crafts! This one is turning out really cute so far- I can't wait to share!

*Having a movie night! I love Halloween movies so I've decided to devote one night to watching them! Do you have any Halloween movies you love?! I'd love to hear.

What are your plans for the weekend!?

Nicholle

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Raise your hand if you love girly fall drinks! (raises hand) It's no secret that I'm a sucker for seasonal hot drinks but I'll be honest I've never been the biggest fan of Starbucks- it's way too sweet for me and just never that satisfying. If I'm ever out and need a coffee I always stop at Dunkin or a store that has Green Mountain Coffee- If I do end up at Starbucks I'll just get a hot tea. I also hate spending money on useless things- drinking $7 dollars worth of sugar water seems like a waste so I decided to make my own Pumpkin Spice Latte! This turned out so delicious, I'll definitely be making it again!

Recipe: Makes 2 Cups

Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons Pumpkin puree
1/2 Teaspoon Pumpkin pie spice
2 Tablespoons Vanilla extract
2 cups Whole milk
1/2 a cup of coffee

Instructions:

1. Heat the pumpkin & spices in a small saucepan over medium heat- stir constantly about 2-3 minutes
2. Warm the milk and vanilla gently
3. Blend the milk until frothy
4. Pour half the coffee in mug topped with the frothed milk & pumpkin mixture
5. Top with whipped cream & a sprinkle of cinnamon - I also put in a little pumpkin spice cookie stick! You can find these at any store in the cookie aisle.

* You can add sugar to this drink but I find its sweet enough without it!

Do you have any fall drinks you love? I'd love to know!

Nicholle

Thursday Thoughts

My wish list at Nordstrom seems to be growing everyday! There's so many cute things but do I really need any of it? Probably not! I will say I think i'm going to order this scarf! It's under $50 & looks soo cozy! This bag is super similar to two I own so I don't really need it unfortunately- but if you don't have a bag in this wine shade you should get this one! Rebecca Minkoff handbags are such great quality for the price.

Thursday Thoughts

Happy Thursday!

I can't believe it's already October! This is my favorite time of year so I'm trying to squeeze in as many things as possible! I'm so thankful the weather has decided to chill out- I do not do well in 90-degree temps! I'm all for the mid-60s with some sun. Life has been a little crazy lately with the start of the school year & getting back into the groove of things- I'm always so happy when Thursday comes around!

Things I did this week //

* Took a trip up to Stowe & visited the Cider Mill which I share in THIS post.

* Did some fun DIY projects that involved spray paint! I always forget how great spray paint is- it takes only a few mins to apply and changes the whole vibe of an item instantly!

* Bought some work pants- Weird right? For some reason, I was seriously lacking in the bottoms department so I grabbed some new pants this week! I picked up some super cute cords in 2 colors & some black jegging type bottoms to go with sweaters! What types of bottoms do you like to wear to work?

* Laughed at Kyle as he installed our new dishwasher- Our old one stopped working so we ventured to Lowes & picked up a new one- we could have added on installation when we purchased it but Kyle insisted he was man enough to complete the task HA! He did successfully install it though!

Things I'm doing this weekend //

* Game night! I feel like people always forget that you can have just as much fun at home as you can have going out! Put a funny movie on- grab monopoly & pop some popcorn!

* One of my friends is getting married on Saturday afternoon so I will be attending her wedding! I'm still a little stumped on what to wear as it's outdoors and will be a little chilly! Any suggestions?

* Going to a Corn Maze! I'm completing most of the items on my fall bucket list! Corn Mazes are so fun especially if you pack a thermos of hot chocolate (and some snacks) for when you get lost in there for an hour!

Do you have any fun weekend plans? Let me know!

Cold Hollow Cider Mill

Shawl Vest // Perforated Bootie (similar) // Grey Shirt // Hat (Target)

Hi All!
I wanted to share some snaps Kyle took while we were at the Cider Mill the other day! Cold Hollow Cider Mill is located in the scenic Waterbury Vermont which is just a short drive from Stowe. While at the Cider Mill you can enjoy fresh cider donuts (made right in front of you) - fresh hot or cold cider, maple coffee and much more! Inside the Cider Mill you are able to watch the apples be pressed into cider in a viewing area- they also provide explanations as to how the cider is made and packaged! Inside the mill store are many Vermont made products- from jams to dip and soup mixes! Outside the Cider Mill there are picnic tables, swinging chairs, a gazebo, and across the parking lot a restaurant! If you're visiting Vermont or the area I suggest you add this to your to do list it's the perfect fall activity!

The day we went up to the mill was quite chilly so I chose to wear this wool hat I snagged at Target- these type of hats actually keep you surprisingly warm! I paired the hat with simple denim & a long sleeve tee with the coziest shawl vest I picked up at a boutique in Boston, but luckily it's also available online & comes in so many colors!

Do you have any places like this where you live!?

Nicholle
